Sun Jun 21 - Sat Jun 27, 2026
(7 days)
Ages 11 - 13

Join us in discovering the adventure of backcountry bikepacking! After tuning up our bikes and practicing riding techniques on Kroka’s bike course, we will head into the forest for a week filled with spectacularly wild mountain bike adventures. The rich history of New Hampshire has left our forests full of wondrous dirt trails alongside abandoned root cellars, mines, and wilderness lakes. We will return to Kroka for campfire meals and cozy dwellings during the first half of the week. Our next adventure will be a two-day overnight expedition. Each day will include discovering and playing in wild swimming holes, games, and evening stories by the campfire. In addition to technical riding, students will learn how to take care of their bikes and participate in community service projects. This introductory program is excellent preparation for our Mountain Bike Expeditions!

Girls Rock!
Sun Jul 5 - Sat Jul 11, 2026
(7 days)
Ages 11 - 13

Open to female-identified and non-binary participants. Must be a comfortable bike rider.

Created for girls who love to climb, ride bikes, and swim, this trip combines the best experiences that summer has to offer! Based on the Kroka Farm, we will work daily with the cows, goats, and chickens, caring for the animals and learning about the food we eat. Hopping on our bikes, we will set off to explore local swimming holes, go rock climbing, and experience the exhilaration and freedom of the bicycle, returning home each night to sleep in the cozy village dwellings. We will live, play, laugh, and experience the magic of being in nature, crafting with our own two hands, and forming a community. At the end of the week we will embark on an overnight, truck-supported mountain bike expedition.

Adirondack Multi-Element
Sun Jul 5 - Sat Jul 18, 2026
(14 days)
Ages 14 - 16
Just across Lake Champlain lie the legendary Adirondack Mountains - a park bigger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, and Rocky Mountain National Parks combined. On this jam-packed expedition we’ll paddle past otter slides on the Raquette River and climb into the Alpine Zone on Giant Mountain. We’ll bike along the Adirondack Rail Trail and canoe lake-to-river along an ancient trade route. We'll get to live The Dirty Life for a day on Essex Farm. But first, we need to form a team: beginning at Kroka with expedition preparation and pre-trip jobs, we will tune our bikes and tie down our canoes. We will carve spoons, practice campfire cooking, and help take care of Kroka’s farm animals. All this helps to forge a close-knit community where each member of the group has an essential role on the expedition. With four elements and just two weeks, this is a true multi-element adventure and sure to be one of the most exciting expeditions of the summer!

Bikes, Swimming Holes, and Canoes
Sun Jul 19 - Sat Aug 1, 2026
(14 days)
Ages 13 - 15

This unique adventure links together secret swimming holes, hidden campsites, and mountain views by a network of bike trails and dirt roads. Bike travel means hair blowing in the summer breeze, seeing the beauty of the landscape flow by, and the rewarding feeling of arriving at the top of the hill. For the first half of the week our bikes become our homes, fitted with frame bags, front loaders, fork and saddle bags, 29” wheels, and 12-speed cassettes. Then we switch to canoes, where the current carries us downstream and the reward of every day is a swim in the river.   The journey takes us from the base of Mt. Monadnock across New Hampshire to Wontastaquiet, the “Mountain at the Place of the Lost River.” Along the way we will go rock climbing,  descend into an abandoned mine, scramble through a rocky gorge, and bike on miles of wooded trails.
